As explained in our Privacy Policy, at Touring Highlights, we are committed to only collecting, using and disclosing your personal data in ways that you expect and have consented to or as we are required and permitted by law. Cookies and similar technologies may collect personal data about you and in this policy we explain what information we collect and what purposes it is used for.
We understand that not everybody needs or wants to know how we use their information in the same level of detail, so we have created two levels of information for you. If you just want to know the basics, read the ‘essential information’ section for each topic. If you want to know more, you can read the ‘detailed information’ section so you can learn more about a particular issue.
What are cookies?
When you open an email from us, visit our website or one of our Apps, we use standard technology to collect information which includes, how the website is used, the type of device or computer you are using, your IP address, approximate location and, where applicable, the time it took to read the email.
This information is gathered through “Cookies”, web beacons or similar technologies.
Cookies are small files of letters and numbers that we put on your computer’s hard drive. These small files allow us to distinguish you from other users of our websites, monitor website traffic and to personalise the content of the site for you. This ultimately helps us provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and allows us to improve our site going forward.
Please note however that Cookies cannot retrieve any personal data from your hard drive or pass on computer viruses.
You can decide to disable your cookies but please be aware that certain cookies are absolutely necessary to let you do everything you want to on our websites. Disabling some other cookies will however have little impact on your experience but there may be some limitations – for example, you won’t be able to share content. It may also affect your experience on other websites. For more information on the different types of cookies we use please see detailed information below.

Targeting/Advertising Cookies
These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers. Quite often targeting or advertising cookies will be linked to advertising functionality provided by the other organisation.
Google and Facebook are third parties who help us advertise by placing banners on various internet sites. They place Cookies to help us measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign and see how many users have clicked on a particular advert. They may also use Cookies to display relevant offers (such as recommendations of products that you might be interested in) when you visit other websites.

Web beacons
We also use web beacons in our emails which can collect information about the type of device you are using to ensure that we display the correct format for the email, and that also collect information such as your IP address to enable us to gather statistical data and to personalise your email, for example, based on your approximate location.
What are Persistent and Session Cookies?
Cookies can expire at the end of a browser session (from when you open the browser window to when you close it) or they can be stored for longer.
Persistent Cookies are stored on your device in between browser sessions which allow your preferences or actions to be remembered next time you visit our site.
Session Cookies are temporary and allow our site to link your actions during a browser session. They may be used for a variety of purposes such as remembering what you have put in your ticket basket as you browse around our site. These Session Cookies expire after a browser session.
What are First and Third Party Cookies?
Whether a Cookie is ‘first’ or ‘third’ party refers to the website or domain placing the Cookie.
First Party Cookies, in basic terms, are Cookies set by the website you have visited – the website displayed in the URL window.
Third Party Cookies are Cookies that are set by a domain other than the one you are visiting. If you visit a website and a separate company sets a Cookie through that website then this would be a Third party Cookie.
