Sorrento
On the northern side of the Amalfi Coast is the town of Sorrento, which is famous for its stunning scenery, gorgeous buildings, and coastal walks. A large portion of Sorrento’s economy is based on tourism, although it is also famous for producing Limoncello.
It is definitely worth visiting the cathedral of Sorrento, which was built in the 11th century.
Explore the pastel-coloured houses of Positano
With its beautiful coloured houses lining the mountainside, Positano is considered one of the most picturesque towns on the Amalfi coast. The best way to see Positano is from the sea – if you can, take a boat out and see the entire town from the water – the view of the houses and mountains is simply stunning.
Enjoy the stunning views from Praiano
Priano is a small town located between Positano and Amalfi and is less crowded than other coastal spots, so it’s a great place to escape the crowds. Despite being small, the town has absolutely stunning views that stretch for miles.
It is characteristic of the Amalfi Coast, as it hugs the mountainside, with the houses staggered along the cliff and the road leading here winding back and forth until you reach the small harbour.
Amalfi
Located in the heart of this beautiful region, the town of Amalfi is often full of tourists. With its multitude of multi-coloured houses and shops, Amalfi is equally beautiful as the other coastal towns in this region.
Due to its size, Amalfi has a cathedral that is separately financed. It holds an important place in Amalfi and the Piazza del Duomo is one of the main places to visit.
Ravello
You must visit Ravello if you want to get the best views of the Amalfi Coast. It is located at the top of a mountain between Amalfi and Maiori and is quite different from the other busy tourist locations.
There are so many things to see and do in Ravello, but one of the main attractions is the Villa Rufolo – this ancient Roman villa is perhaps the best view in town and is a wonderful spot to simply relax, enjoy the views, and soak up the sun.
Maiori
Maiori is the perfect place to relax and renew your mind and soul on a beautiful beach on the Amalfi Coast! There is a beautiful beach split between left and right-hand lanes and both sections meet with clear waters of the Mediterranean Ocean.

Cetara Fishing Fleets
Cetara is considered to be one of Amalfi’s most authentic and natural villages. Tourists have not affected the charm of this tiny hamlet and virtually all of it has remained intact.
It’s the place to see what the towns of Amalfi looked like before they became overrun by tourists.
Grotta dello Smeraldo Cave Boat Tour
It’s one of the most beautiful caves in all of Italy, and it’s called the Emerald Cave for a reason. One of the few caves on Earth bathed in natural emerald light, the Smeraldo Cave is located between Amalfi and Praiano.
Salerno
Salerno, the largest city along the Amalfi Coast, is a thriving town on the eastern edge of this region. Despite its status as a part of the region or not, the town is undoubtedly worth a visit regardless. With a combination of old and new, we find that the town of Basilicata is great for exploring the old historic centre of the city, but also enjoy the nightlife of the downtown area with a variety of pubs, clubs, and bars.
Valle delle Ferriere Waterfalls
Located in the province of Salerno, the Ferriere Valley is a protected area that is a wonderful place to hike and explore for outdoor enthusiasts.
The natural scenery in this region is absolutely stunning, and there are countless hiking and cycling trails that wind through the lush forests. You won’t find the typical bustle of tourists found in the busy coastal towns of Amalfi in this protected area.
Capri
One of the most popular destinations along the Amalfi Coast is Capri, which is truly magical. The island of Capri is renowned for its gorgeous scenery, its array of beautiful beaches, and its incredible mountain views. From several coastal towns on the Amalfi Coast, regular ferries go to this island just off the coast.
Train Journey
Amalfi’s northern part has its own train line called La Circumvesuviana Line.
Naples to Sorrento is served by this railway and is a wonderful way to admire this coastal area’s breathtaking scenery. Additionally, the Circumvesuviana is a convenient and relatively inexpensive way to travel from Naples to Sorrento.
Boat Ride
An organized boat tour is a relaxing way to view the Amalfi coast. If you take a boat tour, you can see most of the coast and you do not have to worry about catching a bus or train, or walking along the winding coastal path.
In addition, you can admire the many towns along the coast such as Amalfi, Minori, and Positano from the water – there is nothing quite like seeing the colorful houses rising in front of the cliffs and admiring the lush green landscapes.
Sirenuse Islands
Between Capri and Positano, this small island chain lies off the southern coast of the Amalfi coast. There is no access to the island, but you can swim and snorkel in the surrounding waters. If you’d like to see amazing scenery and aquatic life, then a boat trip around this charming island chain is the perfect activity.
Their names refer to the mythological Sirens who lived in the ancient area and are part of the Campanian Archipelago. There are five islands in the chain: Isca, Vetara, Gallo Lungo, La Castelluccia, and La Rotonda.
Visit Furore
There are many attractions in Furore, and it is a fantastic place to visit in the center of the Amalfi Coast. Driving to Furore along the roads that wind along limestone cliffs and lush vineyard terraces can be quite spectacular.
Some of the shops and houses in the town are decorated with beautifully painted murals. They depict colorful scenes of life along the Amalfi Coast and have been hand painted.
