Day 1Arrive in Palermo

Day 2Palermo walking tour and Palazzo dei Normanni

Embark on this exciting three-hour tour of Palermo’s Old town. You will come across varying architectural styles and it may even feel as if you are walking through an open-air museum. There is so much history within the center of Palermo, walking through the old town you are sure to come across Capo street market. Here you are sure to find the perfect mix of culture, history, landmarks, shops, and food. This walk will also enable you to sample some of the delicious delicacies Palermo has to offer. The street food is second to none. You can sample a range of different delicacies, from dough bread to meats. This tour is so worth it and packs so much into the three hours.

What next?

Next, we have a trip to the stunning Palazzo dei Normanni, translated in English to Norman Palace. The 9th-century palace offers an exquisite insight into Sicilian history. The palace embodies stunning architectural features and during a makeover in the Norman Empire, mosaics were added to many of its walls.

Day 3Full day in Agrigento

Take a scenic two-hour drive to Argerinto on a full-day excursion out of Palermo. Argentino is situated by the sea and was founded in 6 BC by the Greek colonists. The excursion lasts 8 hours and includes many attractions. You will visit the valley of the temples, stop for coffee en route and you will also be able to visit the Hera, Concordia, and Apollo temples, and Hardcastle villa. This is an absolute must-see!

Day 4 Monreale and Cefalu half day tour

Explore Monreale and Cafelu on a 6-hour tour from Palermo. You will enter a stunning Norman cathedral and spend some time marveling at the cathedral’s architecture and artistry. You will all know about the Greek and medieval history of these stunning Sicily towns. From there you will drive up the coastline to Cefalu and experience the 12th-century Duomo. An official guide will escort you around and give you interesting facts about the area. Enjoy panoramic views of the city and explore the Mandarisca Museum and 16th-century Greek and Arabic history as you go!

What’s next?

Take a bus to Catania!

Day 5Catania: Syracuse, Ortigia and Noto transfer tour

Visit the magnificent Neapolis in Syracuse, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.  After you are done exploring Syracuse you will head to the stunning Ortigia, where you will see sights such as the ruins of the temple of Apollo, Saint Mary’s Cathedral, and the fountain of Arethusa. You will have the option to stop for a Sicilian snack or have lunch at one of the incredible restaurants. Before you depart, you will then stop off at Noto, exploring the stunning architecture, buildings, and stairways.

Day 6Mount Etna and Taormina full day tour

Enjoy a day marveling at the stunning natural wonder of Mt Etna and then head to the beautiful town of Toarmina. You will visit Europe’s highest active volcano, trekking through a crater and viewing the spectacular scenery. You will then travel to Toarmina, exploring the gorgeous town and all it has to offer. Walk around the town and explore the medieval churches, Greek theaters and shopping options.

Day 7Catania: City walking tour

Enjoy a day exploring the city of Catania. You will be led through the streets on a guided walking tour, led by a local guide. Marvel at Catania’s many landmarks, from the Ursino castle to the ancient Greek landmarks. You will see all that this city has to see and enjoy it all on foot!
